Meerkat Games

Iloe carefully maneuvered herself, her jaws clutching the tool with care. It tasted horrible, but she did not mind as it would not be in her mouth much longer. Once she was out of the zone, she sat it down and looked around, her eyes scanning the area around their new home, looking for a suitable hiding spot. This was part of a game she had developed. Sneaking into the house where Elroy and Nico did their work, and sneaking off with Nico's tools then hiding them. It was hide and seek and...it seemed Nico never suspected that she was the culprit. She chose her hiding places with care, up some trees, on roofs, or her favorite, burying them. Lo made sure they would be relatively easy to find, not too easy as it would ruin the fun, but enough to have some challenge. Little meerkat eyes trailed around and she spotted a good place. The library! Nico would never think to look there naturally. She shifted into a silky Sifaka and took off through the trees, a little white ghost darting through the foliage. She shifted back into a meerkat and wiggled her way inside, her treasure clutched tightly. It was relatively dark, though a few lanterns were on. She shifted into her Australian shepherd form to sniff the air. She detected the scents of books, freshly copied and put together by the two shifters that were now in charge. Iloe knew she now had to make sure to hide it without Kerwin or Sacha finding it as it would be a wasted effort of her fun. Iloe trotted down the aisles, her eyes taking in the sights and searching. She paused and smiled. Found it.

~~~~ Colorful cursing came from the direction of the shop.

Iloe grinned to herself from where she was by the window. Her eyes drifting between the youngsters who were eating their breakfast, with her three helpers helping the smaller ones, and in the direction of the hut where Nico and Elroy did their work. The sounds obviously said that her plan was a success.

Her eyes lifted to the window seeing a very pissed off Nico in his monkey form. "Where is it?!" he chattered angrily. Iloe's face was innocent and sweet as she replied. "What?" "You know what! where is it?" he glared around as if expecting that she had hidden it in the dining room of the Nursery. "I have no idea of what you're talking about," Iloe replied calmly, her poker face setting in. They bounced back and forth, Nico getting madder, but Iloe being sweet and oblivious and finally the monkey boy left. The orphans had been watching the exchange curiously. "What was that for?" a little rabbit asked, the others exchanging looks of puzzle and slight fear, Nico was fun but he sometimes scared them. "Oh it's nothing," Iloe assured her, joining her and giving a little nuzzle between her ears. "Nico is always losing things, pay him no mind."

In the library, the two caretakers were now awake and were doing their rounds. Kerwin walked along the hall towards the reference books and came to a halt, his eyes widen. Before him two books were laying haphazardly on the floor and on the shelf they came from the books were put in poorly. That would not do. He called Sacha over and the two went to work. The exiled prince suddenly frowned when his hand bumped against something. "What in the world..." he muttered and pulled out the tool. Kerwin blinked in confusion and looked around, how did that get in here? He wouldn't expect Nico or even Elroy just to go around putting their tools in weird places...could it been Emery? He shook his head, not him. Kerwin carefully took it and headed outside. "Nico!" he called and the monkey boy appeared before him. "Thank Niti...where was it?" the other shifter said as he shifted from monkey to human. "In the library, somebody hide it under the reference books."

Iloe was grinning. She was sitting on top of the Nursery's root, it was a good place to catch some rays and to observe. She saw Nico heading for the library and smiled to herself. He looked ticked, but he couldn't possibly guessed it was her. She was already planning her next game. When Nico turned to glare at her she only gave him a smile and waved a paw before she dropped back inside.

Opening

This is based off a role-play I was a part of. Since...it is sadly at its end, I will keep my characters alive in my stories which are my unique version of art, I like to draw, but I prefer to draw and paint with words as I feel it provides me a better outlet to show my thoughts.

My stories will mainly be oneshots that involves my characters which can be found below.

Iloe: 25 year old female shifter from a strange place she calls The Isles. Iloe (or Lo) was born a human but her first shift (and favorite) form is a meerkat. Her other forms are Egyptian vulture, Australian Shepherd (blue merle), a prehistoric cheetah like cat, a dolphin, then a sea slug...She is quite unusual that she was naturally born with periwinkle hair and has gray-blue eyes.

Eowyn 'Winnie': I'm still considering her age, but she is very small and was born a bat. All her shifts are mainly centered around bat forms. She is very shy and quiet and is scared of raptors like hawks and eagles.

Yelena 'Yelly': Fairly new and one that I been considering her depth but haven't gotten much. Yelly is a Russian shifter and is mated to one of the six princes, Brences, who is now King. Her main form is a red deer hind like her mate but she has the forms of a Russian sable marten, an Ural owl, a Bactrian Camel, and a dog. Yelena is the mother to hers and Brences' son, Brechin.
